Training Development and Management

  • Managed the development of an integrated curriculum of 55 courses for technical communicators that were taught worldwide. Topics included tools (Framemaker, RoboHelp), skills (editing, indexing, writing help, designing websites), and processes (project management, modular documentation).
  • Recruited and managed 25 industry experts who developed and presented the courses. Collaborated with them to determine content and structure of courses. Created standards for and edited all materials. Monitored evaluation metrics.
  • Developed custom training courses for clients, including Compaq, Hewlett Packard (US, Germany), ADP, Digital Equipment Corporation, Citibank, Oracle, Hermes SoftLab (Slovenia), and more.
  • Taught courses at conferences, as public sessions, onsite to clients, and through universities. Information Design and Development

  • Edited a wide range of information products developed by project teams. Collaborated with authors to define the audience, objectives, structure, and content of the materials.

  • Created the award-winning Writer's Reference Card, a quick reference used by over 10,000 professional writers and non-writers at companies worldwide.
  • Defined a methodology for developing user-focused, modular information products. Based on user-centered analysis and design techniques, the methodology includes site visits, contextual inquiry. prototyping, extensive use of graphics, and usability testing.
